Madison Public Library, South Branch

Madison, Wisconsin

In order to attract visitors and maximize efficiency of a prominent commercial corridor, the new 12,000 sf South Madison Branch Library will be part of a "grey box" development that shares a site with a larger redevelopment of a major shopping and social service center.

With sustainability as a priority, the project is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Commercial Interiors (LEED® - CI) Rating System. Silver level certification is anticipated.

In addition to sustainability, the library made patron comfort a main priority. Through architectural features and furnishings, the library space is designed for maximum flexibilty and adaptibility. Walls can be opened up and spaces can be reconfigured depending on the services offered in each space or the time of day.
