Milwaukee, WI - Concourse C Expansion

Status Stem completed Summer 2006;
Hammerhead estimated completion Summer 2007
Square Feet 110,000 gross sf

A substantial expansion to accommodate a growing number of passengers and flights. The first phase, or "stem", increased capacity for the security checkpoint, an additional security screening lane, large airline gate seating areas, an atrium with more natural light and remodeled dining and retail areas. A colorful terrazo floor by artist Carlos Alves is the feature of the project. The second phase, or the "Hammerhead", is an eight gate addition. EADP is serving as the lead consultant for the project, which began as a study to determine the feasibility of expanding the existing concourse. Design, cost estimates and efficiency of continued airport operations were compared. The design of the concourse expansion includes airside and landside architecture, interior design, engineering, hydrant fuel system expansion, environmental assessment, daylighting and coordination with FAA, fuel farm relocation and tenant airlines.
